Parking fines (Penalty Charge Notices)
East Renfrewshire Council's parking attendants are responsible for issuing parking fines (Penalty Charge Notices).
If you park in breach of the parking restrictions either on-street, or in an off-street car park, you are likely to get a parking fine called a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). Before leaving your vehicle, please take care to read the Traffic Regulation signs in the area if you are in doubt. The signs inform you as to which restrictions apply.
East Renfrewshire Council's Parking Attendants' job is to make the restrictions work for all residents and visitors. They collect a range of evidence, including video and photographs to give assurance against errors when issuing tickets.
Police Scotland continues to enforce moving offences, obstructions and endorsable offences as these violations are potentially dangerous or harmful. These include speeding or parking on white zig-zags at crossings.
If you have any further questions please read the Q&A document:

East Renfrewshire Council
PO BOX 27100
If your challenge is rejected, you will be sent a reply explaining the reasons why, and advising what you can do next.
If your challenge is accepted the parking fine (PCN) will be withdrawn and you will receive written notification. Do not send any payment with your challenge as the council's receipt of the correct payment will deem the case to be closed and there is no recourse to further action.
