Chief Executive's Office
Lorraine McMillan is East Renfrewshire Council's chief executive and is the senior officer responsible for the work of all council employees.
Lorraine is the most senior policy adviser to elected members of the council and is responsible for delivering on the policies they agree.
As part of the council's Corporate Management Team, Lorraine manages the direction of the council and its resources.
In her capacity as returning officer, Lorraine is also responsible for the organisation and delivery of elections in East Renfrewshire.
Lorraine is supported in her role by three teams who help to ensure that the council's systems of governance and internal control are robust.
Legal and Procurement
Managed by Gerry Mahon (Chief Officer Legal and Procurement, Deputy Monitoring Officer)
- Provides a full range of legal services to the council and departments.
- Delivers procurement services across the council supporting all purchasing and tendering activities.
Managed by Michelle Blair (Chief Auditor, reports to the Internal Audit Committee)
- The service objectively examines, evaluates and reports on the adequacy of internal control as a contribution to the proper economic, efficient and effective use of the council's resources.
Managed by Margaret McCrossan (Head of Accountancy - Chief Financial Officer)
- Manages and controls the council's expenditure of more than £200million.
