Extended hours licence

Details on how to apply for an extended hours licence.

If you want to extend your licensing hours in connection with a special event or occasion to be catered on the premises or for a special event of local or national significance you must apply at least 21 days before the proposed start of the event to allow us to process your application.

How to apply

Complete an application for extended hours available in the related documents area and send it to your local Licensing Office.

How the application is dealt with

A copy of your application will be forwarded to the Chief Constable, Police Scotland and the Licensing Standards Officer.   They have 10 days to notify the Board of any comments or objections.   In this case, you will be given a further opportunity to comment.

The Licensing Board may ask you to attend a Hearing if there are objections or comments.  If there are none, the application will probably be decided without a hearing.

If you have not heard from us at least seven days before the date of the event please contact Licensing and we will let you know about your application's progress.


The fee for an application for extended hours is £10.
