With a local turn out of 76.1 per cent, East Renfrewshire's Counting Officer, Lorraine McMillan, has thanked voters for delivering another high turnout in the East Ren counting area.

"We have once more recorded a high turnout and I would like to thank local voters for getting out and having their say in the EU Referendum.

"I would also like to thank our election staff across East Ren. They set up and ran our polling stations, making sure they were open from 7am and running them for 15 hours on the day until 10pm.

"We also had staff working throughout the night to verify and count the votes." - Lorraine McMillan, East Renfrewshire's Counting Officer

The total number of votes counted was 52,969.

The number of ballot papers rejected is 28.
