Aurs Road, Barrhead-Newton Mearns will be closed to all vehicles from Monday 26th September to Tuesday 25th October.
Aurs Road (Barrhead - Newton Mearns) is to be closed for 4 weeks starting 26th September as part of the ongoing £120 million Scottish Water Ayrshire-East Renfrewshire pipeline project.
A power supply cable must be installed for a new and essential water pumping station adjacent to Aurs Road.
To facilitate these necessary works, Aurs Road, Barrhead-Newton Mearns will be closed to all vehicles (except those associated with the works) from Monday 26 September to Tuesday 25th October or sooner upon completion of the works.
We have recently been notified by Scottish Water that there is a delay in commencing the work requiring the road closure, but the original end date of 25th October for the closure will remain.
Vehicular access to Dams to Darnley Country Park via Aurs Road will be permitted from Newton Mearns side, but no access will be available from Barrhead side.
All enquiries about the works should be directed to Scottish Water at 0800 0778 778.
Details of the restriction and alternative routes can be found on the (C9 Aurs Road, Barrhead-Newton Mearns) (Temporary Restriction to Use of Road) Order 2016:
