Forum will answer private landlords questions
Landlord forum on Tuesday 29 November at Eastwood House.
Landlords across East Renfrewshire are invited to the next Private Landlord Forum at the end of this month.
The open session aims to answer any questions put forward by the landlords on any topics that they might be interested or concerned about in the private rented sector.
Private rented housing officer Grant Murray will be on hand to engage with the landlords and give a brief presentation on the current private rented sector in East Renfrewshire.
This month's forum aims to answer everything you want to know about being a private landlord but have been afraid to ask. There will be guest speakers discussing the 'Empty Homes in East Renfrewshire' project as well as outlining the future plans for the Private Sector Leasing Scheme. The private sector has grown substantially in East Renfrewshire and Scotland as a whole since the introduction of the landlord register. The night will hopefully give every landlord the opportunity to learn good practice and discuss relevant issues concerning you.
Grant Murray - Private Rented Housing Officer
The Council's Prevention team will also be there to discuss rent arrears, hiring Trusted Traders, as well as how to protect landlords and tenants from scams and offer business advice on consumer issues.
We hold these forums regularly to engage with our private landlords and share useful information and details of any new legislation. We're inviting all our local landlords to come along and make the most of this opportunity to learn good practice which will enable them to become the best landlord they can be.
Councillor Danny Devlin - Convener for Housing and Maintenance Services
The event will take place at 6:30pm on Tuesday 29 November at Eastwood House, Rouken Glen Road, Giffnock, G46 7JL.
