Our Customer Service opening hours are 8.45am - 4.45pm, Monday to Friday. The Payment Centre hours are 9am - 4.15pm, with only credit/debit card payments (not cash) between 1pm and 2pm.

Benefits health check

Our Income Maximisation Service can provide a free review of your benefit entitlement.

Our income maximisation staff will carry out a free, confidential benefit health check to find out if you are entitled to additional benefits such as attendance allowance, a council tax discount or disability living allowance (personal independence payments for working age). Staff will help you complete forms.

You can refer yourself, or someone else. If you are referring someone else, please make sure that you have their permission first. The quickest way is to complete the online form:

On receiving a referral, the Money Advice and Rights team will call/contact you within 5 working days of your enquiry. We will be able to give you advice over the telephone, or arrange an appointment at a mutually suitable location.

Case study

The team received a phone call from the daughter of a 76 year old man who lived in Busby. Her father had a small works pension but his health was suffering and he was finding it difficult to get dressed and washed. After staff visited him at home, they helped him to successfully apply for Attendance Allowance. He was then entitled to pension credit/housing benefit and council tax benefit which resulted in additional income of £8,475 per year.
