Did you know you can travel on the pdf icon 374/375 SPT bus service [127kb] to the Centre? This service was introduced when the Centre opened in August 2016 and due to the low uptake, a decision will be made in early 2017 whether to continue the service.

The £15m state-of-the-art Eastwood Health and Care Centre located in Drumby Crescent, Clarkston, serves the whole of the Eastwood area of East Renfrewshire.

The innovative centre offers the Eastwood community access to a wide range of health and social care services under one roof for the first time.

It is home to five GP practices and community health and care services including clinics, podiatry, physiotherapy, children's services, adult mental health services, speech therapy, district nursing, health visiting and social work.

It is also home to a community enterprise in the form of a cafe run as an employability project and acts as a community hub with a variety of spaces for voluntary groups to come together.

The project has been delivered by East Renfrewshire HSCP in partnership with hub West Scotland and the Scottish Futures Trust.

The total cost for the building is £14.9m with £9.2m provided by NHSGGC and £5.7m provided by East Renfrewshire Council.

The design of the centre has been adopted as the 'Reference Design' for new primary care centres across Scotland and sets the standard for affordable, quality and sustainable healthcare facilities for the future. Particular attention has been given to ensure this is a Dementia friendly building.

It has benefited from an innovative art strategy to ensure that the building takes in the best principles of therapeutic design with many local artists and schools involved in this work since the project began.
