Access our flooding reports recording all flooding incidences since 1999, defence assessments and actions undertaken for future prevention.
This report has been prepared by Environmental Services and Roads, who are responsible for implementing the statutory provisions of the Flood Prevention (Scotland) Act 1961 (1961 Act), as amended by the Flood Prevention and Land Drainage (Scotland) Act 1997 (1997 Act).
These reports record the incidences of flooding which have occurred since the publication of the previous report and detail the actions undertaken by the Council to alleviate further flooding of non-agricultural land.
Reports are available from 1999 onwards. The reports contain information regarding:
- The assessment of watercourses within the East Renfrewshire Council boundary, from time to time to ascertain if they are in a condition which is likely to cause flooding of non-agricultural land, within or outwith the council boundary
- The efficiency of flood defences and watercourses in order to substantially reduce the likelihood of flooding
- The actions taken, and further measures proposed, to record the occurrences of flooding since the date of the previous report
A leaflet detailing the responsibilities of the Roads and Transportation Service in relation to drainage and flooding can be downloaded from the related documents section of this page.
