Planning and Building Standards

Planning Aid Scotland

Information on how Planning Aid Scotland helps people engage with the planning system.

Planning Aid for Scotland is an independent charity which aims to help people understand, engage with and benefit from the planning system. It provides a free, impartial and professional advice service (subject to eligibility) to help individuals and community groups. The service is provided by volunteers, who are all fully qualified and experienced planners based throughout Scotland.

Advice can be given on any planning issue, from home extensions, wind farms, schools, public spaces, new shopping centres and roads, how to support or object to planning applications, how to get planning permission and how to get involved with Development Plans. They also help with questions about planning appeals and enforcements.
