Our facilities

Our pavilion is available to book for groups, children's parties, classes and meetings.

It's available to book seven days a week, from 9am until 4pm.

There are two rooms which can be opened up into one larger space. For children's parties, we recommend a maximum of 40 people. The space could host up to 100 for meetings.

The facilities within the pavilion include:

• 85 chairs and 10 trestle tables
• wifi
• projector, screen and whiteboard
• toilet and disabled toilet inside the pavilion, plus public toilets and changing place facility accessible from the outside of the building
• window shutters

The pavilion doesn't have catering facilities, but teas/coffees and biscuits can be provided for £1.43/head. You can also arrange your own catering for any booking.

We now have a state-of-the-art Changing Places Toilet facility in the Park, allowing people with profound and multiple learning disabilities or with physical disabilities, a safe and comfortable space to use.

The facility includes a free-standing adult sized bench, ceiling track hoist, peninsular toilet, accessible shower and colostomy shelf, can be found to the right of the park's pavilion building and accessed with a Radar key.

All toilets at the Pavilion are open 7 days a week 9am until 4.30pm (9am until 4.00pm on Fridays).

Over the past number of years, the Walled Garden in Rouken Glen has suffered due to the spreading of Mare's Tail, an invasive perennial weed. This weed is not harmful to humans or animals, but has become a problem in the Walled Garden, causing significant issues.

It developed during the pandemic when we were unable to maintain the garden and the rockery is now overwhelmed with Mare's Tail; it has killed at least 50% of the plants in this bed and by the height of the summer it grows taller than the plants in the bed.  Mare's tail has also spread to other beds within the garden.

We've decided to close the Walled Garden for a period of time to allow us to start a maintenance/weed removal programme to deal with this invasive plant. It will close on Friday 5 July and we aim to re-open Summer/Autumn 2025. However, this will be dependent on how much of the weed we're able to remove during this time.

We cannot control or remove growth through manual hand-weeding, so the closure will allow us to carry out more intensive works, while keeping park visitors safe.

During this time, we'll open the flat area for seating and add some seasonal containers, maintaining access to a quiet area of the park for visitors.

We haven't taken the decision to close off the area lightly. These works will provide a longer-term solution to this problem and, once completed, will deliver an improved space for park visitors.

The skate park provides an opportunity for skateboarding, BMX and inline skating.

This is a popular area for young people to meet and decorate the skate park to suit their tastes.

Due to the nature of the activities this area isn't suitable for very young children and parent supervision is advised.

The tennis courts are open 24/7. Organised tennis coaching isn't allowed on the tennis courts.

Table tennis is open 24/7.

Bats and balls are free to hire. You can get these from the Rangers in the Pavilion Visitor Centre.

The park has a small basketball court next to the skate park.

An 11 piece outdoor gym is available for public use in the oval circuit in the recreation area.

We've a bouncy castle by the play park towards Lodge House, which operates from early March to mid October on weekends, public holidays and school holidays including in-service days between 11.30am and 4.30pm (weather permitting).
