Williamwood and South Giffnock waiting and loading restrictions review

Find out about the Williamwood and South Giffnock waiting and loading restrictions review.

A review of waiting and loading restrictions in the Williamwood and South Giffnock areas is now complete and a new Traffic Regulation Order has been made to introduce new and amended restrictions in these areas.

A formal consultation on proposed new and/or amended on-street waiting and loading restrictions was carried out from 23 July 2019 to 23 August 2019. The feedback received was used to help design final proposals to be included in a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) authorising the introduction of the new and amended restrictions.

Introduction of new restrictions

At the Council on Wednesday 18 December 2019 the Elected Members approved the making of the new TRO covering revised waiting and loading restrictions for the Williamwood and South Giffnock areas.

Before installing any signs and markings associated with the new restrictions, a period of 6 weeks must be observed to allow anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any of its provisions, to make representation to the Court of Session. Only after this period and once all the necessary lining and signing works are complete can enforcement of the restrictions commence.

It's anticipated that enforcement of the restrictions in this area will begin by the end of March 2020.
