Whitelee Windfarm Makaton Treasure Hunt

On Sunday 22 September 2019, the Whitelee Countryside Ranger Service are holding a Makaton Treasure Hunt at Whitelee Windfarm.

Explore the world of Makaton in a treasure hunt style. Signs and symbols will be used throughout the event which is open to both Makaton users and families interested in learning signs.

The event is being run by the Countryside Whitelee Ranger Service to allow Makaton users to enjoy the outdoors by exploring the windfarm using Makaton. 

The theme of the treasure hunt is "colours and animals that hibernate".

The event is free to all, simply drop in to the Whitelee Visitor Centre, on Sunday 22 September from 11am - 3pm.

Makaton is a language programme that gives everyone a helping hand to talk by using signs and symbols to help people communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and helps speech, language and communication skills using gestures and pictures.
