Children certificate - children staying after 10pm

On this page you will find details on how to apply for children to attend special functions beyond 10pm.

East Renfrewshire Licensing Board's policy on admission of children and young persons is as follows:

  • Children up to and including 14 years of age can remain on licensed premises up to 10p.m.
  • Children aged 15 and young persons (16 and 17 year olds) may remain on licensed premises until the end of the licensed hours for these premises.

If there is a special occasions such as a family birthday party or wedding then the premises licence holder may notify the Board of such a event or occasion and, in the circumstances, children aged up to 14 years may also remain on the premises until the terminal hour for the premises.

How to apply

Notifications should be sent to the licensing section at least 7 days prior to the event. Late applications will only be accepted at the Board's discretion.

The Board or the Licensing Standards Officer may make checks to verify the information on the application form.

There is an administrative fee of £10 for each application, but applications can include all events for each calendar month.

Alternatively you may pay £120 for all applications over a 12 month period.
