Boost for community engagement

New guidelines are set to support local groups to help influence positive changes in their communities.

New guidelines are set to support local groups to help influence positive changes in their communities.

It means any group with an interest in making a difference can make a participation request for a 'round the table' chat with a range of public bodies, including East Renfrewshire Council.

Participation requests are a commitment from the council to help improve community engagement locally. They will enable people to become involved in the design and delivery of services.

East Renfrewshire Council is always looking to continue to build our relationship with local community groups. Participation requests give communities even more opportunities to get involved in shaping local services and are an exciting opportunity for us to work collaboratively." - Caroline Innes, deputy chief executive

Participation requests can be made to the council via email and there's more information on the Have your Say page of the council web site.
