How we allocate our council houses

Our allocations policy sets out the rules on how we give out council houses.

Our allocation policy states how many points are awarded due to certain circumstances. It also sets out how priority groups of applicants are decided.

We'll house those with the highest housing need.

Priority groups

  • unintentionally homeless
  • special cases
2
  • ERC tenants whose house is subject to demolition order
  • 2 households combine to free a property
  • tenants with spare bedrooms in current property and affected by welfare reforms

  • applicants with a medical priority
4
  • applicants with a local connection
5
  • applicants without a local connection
