Environmental Impact screening opinions

View copies of recent screening opinions (under the EIA Regulations) where development could have a significant environmental impact.

Where a proposed development is of a type which may potentially require an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) because of significant environmental effects, the council is required to adopt a screening opinion to determine whether or not an EIA is necessary.

Screening opinions are usually produced  when an application is received but if applicants wish an early determination this can be done before the application is submitted.

Copies of Screening Opinions for planning applications and proposal of application notices can be found using the online planning service, by going to the relevant proposal.  Recent Screening Opinions undertaken for proposals at the pre-application stage are available below.
