Carbon reduction targets

East Renfrewshire Council is one of just two out of 32 councils in Scotland to hit a major green target.

From We have reduced our carbon dioxide emissions from projects and activities by nearly 27% - 5,200 tonnes!

Since then we have made a further reduction of 10% - 1, 669 tonnes, a total of 6,870 tonnes!  This is equivalent to heating 2,200 average households for a year!

It puts us in line to more than match Scottish Government's ambitious target for the country as a whole, with the possibility of exceeding this target by 2020!
