While there is no set definition, both Scottish and UK governments have given guidance that rent should be no more than between 25% to 35% of a households total income to be deemed affordable.
Each of the property sizes in the table below have been assessed against this guidance to help you when selecting a choice. The tables below also show the income used for housing for households on the minimum wage, living wage and in receipt of benefits.
