Information about the work and membership of the Whitelee Access Planning Group

The Whitelee Access Planning Group (WAPG), was established in 2006 to oversee access developments within Whitelee windfarm and the surrounding area. The Group is made up of a range of interests including the windfarm operator, local authorities, landowner and community representatives. The current membership is as follows:

  • East Renfrewshire Council
  • South Lanarkshire Council
  • East Ayrshire Council
  • Scottish Power Renewables
  • Forestry Commission Scotland
  • Darvel Community Council
  • Eaglesham & Waterfoot Community Council
  • Irvine Valley Regeneration Partnership
  • Glasgow Science Centre

The Group meets on a quarterly basis, with meeting venues rotating between the 3 local authorities.

A Whitelee Access Plan for the period 2009-2014 was agreed in 2009 and can be viewed in the Vision For The Future page, from the Related pages box. The Plan is subject to review on a 5 yearly basis, with a formal review due in 2013.
