Annual Performance Report

How your HSCP performed in 2024-25

East Renfrewshire HSCP's Annual Performance Report for 2024-25 sets out how we have been working to deliver our vision for local people during the last financial year.

As well as highlighting the wide range of activities and supports we have been delivering, the report reviews our performance against agreed local and national performance indicators and against the commitments set out in our Strategic Plan for 2022-25.

The report sets out how we have met our commitments to East Renfrewshire residents over 2024-25, recognising the continuing challenges facing the health and social care sector.  It describes the many innovative approaches we have been taking to meet local needs and address the challenges we face.  Over the year, we have seen continuing collaborative working across the HSCP and with our independent, third and community sector partners.

Our performance information shows that throughout the year, we have continued to maintain and deliver safe and effective services to our residents and there has been positive performance across service areas.

Some performance highlights include:

  • 89.6% of local adults supported at home agree their services and support had an impact on improving or maintaining their quality of life - compares with Scottish average of 69.8%.

  • 89% of our care experienced children are supported in the community rather than a residential setting - better than the Scottish average

  • Mental health hospital admissions remain low in East Renfrewshire.  Access to psychological therapies is improving with 87% waiting no longer than 18 weeks.

  • 97% of people accessing recovery-focused treatment for drug/alcohol are seen within 3 weeks.

  • We remain one of the best performing HSCPs in Scotland on delayed discharge from hospital.  The number of days when hospital beds were occupied due to delayed discharge reduced during the year.

  • In terms of the general health of our population, premature mortality rate has been reducing and remains significantly better than the national average: 275 per 100,000 compared to 442 per 100,000.

  • We continue to see positive performance on safety and wellbeing outcomes for women who have experienced domestic abuse, with 92% of supported women reporting improvement in their outcomes.
