East Renfrewshire HSCP continues Covid vaccine roll out
Partnership is one of the first to vaccinate all care home residents

The East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is continuing the local roll out of the Covid-19 vaccine.
This week, GP practices will begin to vaccinate the over 80s population and the HSCPs District Nursing team will treat at risk house-bound patients at home.
All care home residents in East Renfrewshire who wanted the vaccine, received their first dose by 29 December, including Myra Levinson who is pictured being vaccinated by HSCP nurse Stella Welsh on 18 December.
The vaccination team will be doing a follow up with care homes from Wednesday this week, in order to vaccinate new residents, those we didn't get to first time around due to illness and any remaining staff.
Julie Murray, Chief Officer of East Renfrewshire HSCP said: "I must start by thanking all of our staff who have worked tirelessly to roll out the Covid-19 vaccination programme in East Renfrewshire. We were one of the first Partnerships to complete our care home vaccinations, and that was largely thanks for our staff volunteering to work weekends and late nights in order to help us protect our most vulnerable residents.
"This next phase of the vaccination programme will continue this trend in prioritising our residents by need, and we will also carry on vaccinating our front line health and social care staff."
Residents can help keep East Renfrewshire safe by adhering to lockdown restrictions and by remembering FACTS:
- Face coverings in enclosed spaces,
- Avoid crowded places,
- Clean your hands regularly,
- Two metre distancing
- Self-isolate and book a test if you have symptoms.
