This notice is provided for clarification on what information the Licensing Team need in order to process information regarding civic, liquor and taxi licences. It is necessary to gather, collect, store and process personal information in order to process a licence application.

The information you supply on the the application form will be used by East Renfrewshire Council to process your application for a civic, liquor or taxi licence.

We'll also use your information to verify your identity where required, contact you by post, email or telephone to maintain our records.

We process your information in order to perform a task you have requested. The Council will use this information in line with the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.

It's necessary to provide this service with your information to allow us to fulfil the council's legal obligations in terms of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.

We also need to process more sensitive personal information about you for reasons of substantial public interest as set out in the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you don't provide us with the information we've asked for then we'll not be able to provide this service to you.

The information that we hold about you in relation to your application being granted for a civic, liquor or taxi licence will come from you as an individual or from the person making the application on behalf of your organisation.

The information will be shared with Police Scotland in full for all civic, liquor and taxi applications. A redacted version will be shared with other statutory consultees including the Home Office, community councils and the Fire Authority if appropriate for some civic, liquor and taxi licence applications.

We'll hold your information from the time you are granted the Licence to when it is terminated/cancelled.

Your information will be destroyed under confidential conditions after this period.
