Staff Walks

Find out about our staff walks and how to take part

staff walks

Why don't you team up with a colleague and get out over lunch time to stretch your legs.

Every Monday (Eastwood) and Tuesday (Barrhead) there is a self-led lunchtime walk for staff.

These walks have been planned as a result of our recent wellbeing survey. 41% of you said you'd be interested in accessing physical activity initiatives to support your wellbeing in work, and 81% of you told us that exercise helps you live and feel well.

The walks are a chance to safely get together with colleagues, get some fresh air and stretch your legs. You can come weekly or whenever you can, depending on what your schedule allows.

Both walks cover around 1.7 miles and will last 20- 35`minutes depending on the pace of group. The pace of walks will be moderate. The Barrhead walk is predominantly flat with an occasional soft incline. The Eastwood walk is slightly more challenging, with an incline including steps during first half of walk.

Both walks leave from outside the main outside to the Health Centres. No booking is required, just join when you can.

  • Monday, Eastwood Health & Care Centre, 12:30pm
  • Tuesday, Barrhead Health and Care Centre, 12:30pm
  • Wednesday, Eastwood HQ 12:30pm

If you can't make these walks, but are keen to participate, contact Claire Blair for info on other health walks in your area: claire.blair@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk
