Red warning

Published: 23 January 2025

All schools, nursery classes and family centres will be closed on Friday 24 January due to the potential impacts of Storm Eowyn.

This is a difficult decision to take and we understand the impact on parents and carers, however, the safety of children and young people is paramount.

Our Eastwood HQ and Barrhead offices will be closed, with residents able to contact us via phone or online.

You can access our emergency out of hours contact numbers here.

Bin collections

Bin collections have also been suspended for the day, so please don't put out your bin. Green bins will be collected on Monday 27 January instead. There will be no brown bins collected on Monday 27 January, this includes any missed on Friday 24 January - they will be emptied again on their next scheduled collection day.

Barrhead and Greenhags recycling centres will be closed and there will be no bulky uplifts.

Health and Social Care

Our health and social care services will continue to be provided, with those residents most at need being prioritised. We appreciate the understanding of families of any residents who may be impacted by changes to their care packages. Given the challenging circumstances this adverse weather provides, any support family members can provide to loved ones for personal care is massively appreciated.

GP surgeries will remain open for urgent appointments only and individual GP services will contact patients directly.
