A new Director of Business Operations and Partnerships has been appointed at the Council.
Louise Pringle takes over from Caroline Innes, who retired at the end of January, after being selected during a competitive interview and selection process.
Louise, who has been a Head of Service within the Council for the past 12 years, will have responsibility for a range of customer-facing services such as Customer First, Community Safety and Benefits Payments, as well as support services such as Human Resources, Communications and ICT.
Louise said: 'It's an exciting time to be taking on this new challenge. As we move forward from the impacts of the pandemic, there are lots of opportunities for us to explore and I'm looking forward to working closely with the talented teams across the council.'
Councillor Colm Merrick, Convener for Community Services & Community Safety, added: 'Louise has proved herself to be extremely capable during her time with the Council and has already delivered significant projects which have had a big impact on how we operate. She has also played a crucial role in the Council's response to the coronavirus pandemic and is extremely well-placed to be an effective leader of positive change in East Renfrewshire. I wish her every success for the future.'
Louise, who lives locally with her family, will bring extensive experience to the role. Having completed a Psychology and Politics degree in 1999 at the University of Strathclyde, Louise took on a wide-range of policy and performance roles within local government, progressing to lead on improvement and business change portfolios at East Renfrewshire Council. A promotion to Head of Service followed in 2009 and she brings 22 years of local government experience with her to this new role.
