Who needs an adoptive family?

Children of all ages and from various ethnic and religious backgrounds require adoptive families. This can be one child or often brother and sisters. When we have brothers and sisters being placed for adoption, every effort will be made for them to be placed together, so we need adoptive families who can consider more than one child.

The children will be living with foster carers. Adoption plans for children can only be pursued after all other rehabilitation to family and placing with family members has been ruled out.

Many of the children will have an unsettled start in life. Their experiences may have impacted on their health, development and confidence. They will all have experienced significant loss, and it is important that adopters develop their knowledge around these early year's experiences of children.

It's important that adoption can offer children a sense of connection and belonging and that adopters are able to help children develop a sense of self and stability and positive attachment relationships.
