Greenhags Household Waste and Recycling Centre is staffed and open 7 days a week, year round (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day).

Greenhags Household Waste and Recycling Centre is open to East Renfrewshire residents only.
We do not accept commercial waste unless you have a permit. Businesses looking to dispose of waste at this site should call Lowmac Alloys on 01294 273 748 for more information. Alternatively, further information on commercial waste can be found at:

What can I recycle at Greenhags?
Greenhags is licensed to accept household waste and materials for recycling.
You can recycle:
- Waste electrical and electronic equipment (anything with a plug or battery)
- Fluorescent tube and low energy bulbs
- MDF, chipboard and laminates
- Scrap metal
- Soil and rubble
- Car batteries
- Household batteries
- Engine oil
- Garden waste
- Gas bottles/canisters
You can also recycle everyday items such as paper, glass, cans, plastics food and drinks containers, Tetrapaks and cartons.
Greenhags Household Waste and Recycling Centre does not accept food waste.
Greenhags is also the location of East Renfrewshire's landfill waste transfer station. All waste collected in grey bins throughout the area is brought here to be bulked before onward transport to Greengairs Landfill Site, near Airdrie.
All bulky uplift waste is brought to Greenhags to be sorted into materials that can be recycled.
