Accessing i-Trent self services

Find out about the new hybrid sign-in model for Employee and Manager Self Service (ESS/MSS)

System Downtime: Please note: iTrent will be unavailable from 1pm on Tuesday 18 November until the morning of Wednesday 19 November.

From Wednesday 19 November we're introducing a hybrid sign-in model for Employee and Manager Self Service (ESS/MSS). This replaces the current iTrent Shield authentication and introduces two new access routes:

  • single Sign-On (SSO) for eligible corporate users
  • iTrent Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all others

Only employees who already have an iTrent account will be transitioned. If you don't currently have access, please contact HR Systems to request an account.

What's Changing?

Employees will access iTrent in one of two ways depending on their email address and account setup:

SSO Users

Use your corporate Microsoft 365 login if:

  • your email ends in @eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk or @enjoyeastren.org
  • you have MFA enabled on your Microsoft 365 account

iTrent MFA Users

Use iTrent MFA if:

  • you don't have a corporate Microsoft 365 account
  • you have a corporate account but don't use M365 authentication
  • your email ends in @e-renfrew.sch.uk
  • you currently access iTrent via a personal email address

HR Systems will confirm your access type during setup.

Registration Requirements

  • SSO Users: No registration required, but MFA must be enabled on your Microsoft 365 account
  • iTrent MFA Users: Register and set up MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator app

Managers will use the same method for ESS and MSS
