Meet the team

Published 6 September 2022

Our employability service, Work EastRen, is holding an information day in Barrhead for the local community to come along and find out what support the team can offer.

Work EastRen help the local community in East Renfrewshire prepare for, find and get work. The team supports people who are unemployed, just out of school and those looking for a new challenge with training opportunities, assistance with searching for jobs as well as help with CVs and getting ready for interviews. They also provide a wide range of support and services to local businesses.

Having previously been based in the Barrhead Foundry, the team moved into offices in the town's Lowndes Street just as the Covid-19 pandemic began, so this event, which is set for Tuesday 20 September from 11am until 2pm, is an opportunity to meet with staff and partners, face to face, and discuss the opportunities available.

As well as Work EastRen, there will also be staff from our wider Economic Development team and other partners.

Council Leader Owen O'Donnell said: 'Our Work EastRen team provide a really valuable services to both residents and business across East Renfrewshire. The past couple of years have had a devastating effect on employment and I'm sure there will be many people who don't know where to turn, but help and support is available and this information day is a great opportunity to speak to advisors.'

Work EastRen is based in 14 Lowndes Street, Barrhead, G78 2QX. You can find out more about the team and their work by visiting: www.workeastren.co.uk/
