A new Equality Forum for East Renfrewshire

Glasgow-based charity, Outside the Box, is hosting a series of open days to establish a new Equalities Forum for East Renfrewshire.

Equalities forum

With support from us, the charity will be working with community groups, organisations and service providers across East Renfrewshire to encourage and support local people to participate in this new forum.

This community-led group will bring people together from diverse communities, sharing their perspectives and exploring what is important to them. The aim of the forum is to raise the voices of people who may not usually participate in public forums and to support communities to be well-represented when it comes to decision-making.

The open days are taking place as follows:

  • Clarkston Library, Saturday 18 November, 10.30am - 12.30pm
  • Barrhead Foundry, Wednesday 22 November, 10am - 12pm
  • Clarkston Library, Saturday 2 December, 10.30am - 12.30pm

Anyone wishing to attend can book their place online.

Education and Equalities Convener, Councillor Andrew Anderson, said: 'It's really important that the Council listens to under-represented voices across East Renfrewshire, so this forum is an excellent opportunity to bring our diverse communities together and collaborate for a shared purpose. I'd encourage anyone who can, to come along to one of these events and have your say.'
