Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a real adventure from beginning to end. It's open to all young people from 14 to 24 years old.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DoEA)?

You'll have the chance to:

  • set and achieve goals
  • take part in fun activities
  • make new friends
  • volunteer in your local community
  • learn new skills

How do I get involved?

The DofE Award is available through all our high schools but you can also take part outside school, through an open group.

Award levels

  1. Bronze - You need to be at least 14 to do the Bronze Award. It takes at least 6 months
  2. Silver - You need to be at least 15 to do the Silver Award. It takes at least 12 months
  3. Gold - You need to be at least 16 to do the Gold Award. It takes at least 18 months. The Gold Award also includes a residential project

  • skills
  • physical recreation
  • expeditions
