Essential maintenance to greenspaces resumes
As we head into growing season, the Council is reintroducing a limited grass cutting service.
Published: 30 April 2020
This will include essential maintenance of parks, cemeteries, open spaces and verges on main roads.
Due to reduced staffing levels, this service will initially be limited and focused on priority areas. The use of single operator tractor and ride on mower machinery will allow staff to work safely whilst maintaining rules on social distancing.
Councillor Alan Lafferty, Convener for Environment said: 'Maintaining our parks and open spaces will help to allow people to get exercise locally, on a daily basis. Visiting green spaces can be really beneficial for both physical and mental health, which is vital during these very difficult times. Please do remember to follow government guidance on social distancing and only visit parks and greenspaces close to your home, once a day. Our car parks and play equipment remain closed.'
