Find out about financial assistance when you become a foster carer
Foster carers receive a weekly fostering allowance to cover the cost of caring for a child. The purpose of this is to cover food, clothes, toiletries and all other expenses incurred in looking after the child.
Foster carers also receive a weekly fee payment to recognise their time, skills and experience. We provide four additional allowance payments per year per child. One additional weekly allowance for the child's birthday and at Christmas and a two-week additional payment during the school summer holidays.
