Discretionary housing payment

You can apply for a discretionary housing payment to get financial support to help with rent or housing costs.

Eligibility criteria

You may be eligible if you're having difficulty meeting your rent payments and are currently entitled to  

• Housing Benefit or
• housing element of Universal Credit

What happens next?

Email your completed application to benefits@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk

We'll make a decision about your application within 10 working days. We'll normally contact you by phone and follow this up with a letter.
