Wheelchair accessible taxis and private hire vehicles

All vehicles and their drivers are licensed. The drivers who hold these licenses need to provide the following services:

• Transport the passenger while in their wheelchair
• Carry the wheelchair into the vehicle if the passenger chooses not to sit on the seat instead of the wheelchair
• Take reasonable steps to make sure the passenger travels in safety and comfort
• Give the passenger any help with mobility if needed

Please note, no additional charges will be required for any of these services.

Help with mobility

This includes help to:

• get in and out of the vehicle
• get in and out of the vehicle while in the wheelchair
• load or unload the wheelchair if the passenger doesn't want to stay in the wheelchair
• load the passenger's luggage

Drivers don't need to transport more than one wheelchair at a time.

Drivers also have the right to refuse to transport a passenger under normal rules. For example, a passenger behaving in an unacceptable way.

Driving Miss Daisy
