Senior management responsibility

This element of the Records Management Plan is about defining the officer who has overall responsibility for the management of information within the council.

Introduction

The Public Records (Scotland) Act requires each public authority to be able to demonstrate that its submitted Records Management Plan has the support of the authority's senior management.

Compliance

From first adopting a Records Management Plan in 2015, the Senior Officer with overall strategic responsibility for the Plan is the Chief Executive.

This has been confirmed through the new policy and by agreement of the Corporate Management team on 2 March 2021.

Improvement actions and review

The policy, including determination of the Element 1 officer (see below), will be reviewed every 2 years.

Responsible officer

Stephen Quinn, Chief Executive
