Skip licence

Before you start

An application must be made for each separate skip location by the skip owner.

You must have consent to deposit a builder's skip on the road, footway or verge.

Skip permits should be applied for 10 working days in advance but depending on other planned works, the requested dates may need to be changed.

Permission may be given subject to the following conditions:

• Location of the skip
• Available road space
• Skip dimensions
• Making the skip visible to traffic
• Care and disposal of skip contents
• Lighting and guarding of skip
• Skip removal

Fee

A 4 week permit costs £88.05. 

Retrospective permit

When a skip has been placed without permission a retrospective permit can be issued if appropriate. This will cover the dates prior to the application being processed. This is charged as a separate permit to cover a skip being put in place without a permit (covers days without permit only). This will incur an additional charge of £88.05
