Apply online for planning permission.
Please note, new fees will be introduced from 1 April 2021 for submitting planning applications by paper, and for applying for non-material variations to a planning consent.
Before you start
- You need to submit relevant plans, drawings and information
- Make sure you have the correct supporting documents
- You need your reference number to pay your fee
- You pay your fee after submitting your application
Please note, we can't accept these applications by email.
From 1 April 2021, an additional administration fee will be payable should you decide to submit your application by paper rather than via the ePlanning.scot portal. The fee will be as follows:
|Administration charge for planning applications submitted on paper|
|Other local applications (and applications for consent, prior notifications, certificates of lawfulness and so on)||£100|
|Exemptions to this charge would include:|
The following applications can't be made through the ePlanning.scot website, but can be made directly to us:
Email completed forms to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note, there's no additional administration fee for submitting the above applications by email or in paper.
We'll respond within 20 working days from when we get your application and fee. We'll write to you to confirm if your application is valid and ready to process.
Please note, due to Covid-19, planning applications may take longer than normal to process.
From 1 October 2020, due to a significant backlog of work that has built up due to the Covid-19 lockdown, we'll be unable to offer verbal or written pre-application planning advice for most developments. Exceptions will be made for major developments and those promoting significant economical benefit and job opportunities. In such a case, email your enquiry to email@example.com.
We apologise to customers for any inconvenience that this causes and we aim to restore the service as soon as possible.
If you wish to make any substantial alterations to your proposal once you have consent, then you'll need to apply again. However, if it's only a minor (non-material) change then you can apply for a non-material variation (document available in the 'Before you start' section of this web page).
Please note, from 1 April 2021 there will be a fee for these applications as follows:
|Householder development||No fee for the first application if made within 12 months of the date of the decision of the application.|
Otherwise, the fee is £75.
|Any new housing development (local or major)||£75 per house or flat|
|Other local development and other applications for consent, prior notifications, certificate of lawfulness and so on||£100|
|Other major development||£300|
