Timescales
We'll respond within 20 working days from when we get your application and fee. We'll write to you to confirm if your application is valid and ready to process.
Please note, due to Covid-19, planning applications may take longer than normal to process.
Pre-application advice
From 1 October 2020, due to a significant backlog of work that has built up due to the Covid-19 lockdown, we'll be unable to offer verbal or written pre-application planning advice for most developments. Exceptions will be made for major developments and those promoting significant economical benefit and job opportunities. In such a case, email your enquiry to planning@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.
We apologise to customers for any inconvenience that this causes and we aim to restore the service as soon as possible.
Non-material variations
If you wish to make any substantial alterations to your proposal once you have consent, then you'll need to apply again. However, if it's only a minor (non-material) change then you can apply for a non-material variation (document available in the 'Before you start' section of this web page).
Please note, from 1 April 2021 there will be a fee for these applications as follows:
Householder development | No fee for the first application if made within 12 months of the date of the decision of the application. Otherwise, the fee is £75. |
Any new housing development (local or major) | £75 per house or flat |
